Story 5 The Hippo and I（河马和我）

A hippo lives in the zoo. I like him very much. — 一只河马住在动物园里。我非常喜欢他。 —

I often go to see him. He often thinks of me, too. — 我经常去看他。他也常常想起我。 —

Today is Sunday. It is fine day. I go to see him again. — 今天是星期天。天气很好。我再次去看他。 —

After I leave the zoo, he follows me to my house. — 我离开动物园后，他跟着我来到了我家。 —

I give him lettuce, cabbages, bananas, apples and other food. — 我给他生菜、卷心菜、香蕉、苹果和其他食物。 —

He eats them up. When I sing songs, he stays in the pool. — 他把它们都吃了。当我唱歌时，他待在水池里。 —

He is as quite as a rabbit. 他像兔子一样安静。

In the evening, he jumps onto my bed with me. — 晚上，他和我跳上床。 —
