Chapter 139 The Two Frogs（两只青蛙）

TWO FROGS dwelt in the same pool. —-
两只青蛙住在同一个池塘里。 —-

When the pool dried up under the summer’s heat, they left it and set out together for another home. —-
当夏天的炎热使得池塘干涸，它们离开了，一同出发寻找新的家园。 —-

As they went along they chanced to pass a deep well, amply supplied with water, and when they saw it, one of the Frogs said to the other, “Let us descend and make our abode in this well: —-
在它们前行的路上，它们碰巧路过一个充满水的深井，当它们看到井时，其中一只青蛙对另一只说：“我们下去，住在这口井里吧，它将为我们提供庇护和食物。” —-

it will furnish us with shelter and food. —-
另一只青蛙更为谨慎地回答道：“但是万一水不够用了怎么办？我们如何从这么深的井里爬出来？” —-

” The other replied with greater caution, “But suppose the water should fail us. —-
在做任何事情之前都要考虑后果。 —-

How can we get out again from so great a depth?’
如此深的井，我们如果掉进去可怎么办？

Do nothing without a regard to the consequences.
不要不考虑后果地做事。
