Chapter 74 The Shepherd’s Boy and the Wolf（牧羊童和狼）

A SHEPHERD-BOY, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, —- 一个牧羊童，在村庄附近看守一群羊 —-

brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, “Wolf! Wolf!” —- 他三四次把村民叫出来，大喊着：“狼！狼！” —-

and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains. —- 当他的邻居们赶来帮忙时，他嘲笑了他们的努力。 —-

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. —- 然而，狼确实最终来了。 —-

The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: —- 牧羊男孩，现在真的感到惊慌，以极度恐慌的尖叫声喊道： —-

“Pray, do come and help me; —- “请来帮帮我； —-

the Wolf is killing the sheep”; —- 狼正在杀死羊群”; —-

but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. —- 但没有人理会他的呼喊，也没有提供任何帮助。 —-

The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock. 狼，没有恐惧的原因，悠闲地撕裂或摧毁了整个羊群。

There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth. 对于一个说谎者，即使他说的是真话，也没有人相信。
