Chapter 3 The Ass and the Grasshopper（驴和蚱蜢）

AN ASS having heard some Grasshoppers chirping, was highly enchanted; —- 一只驴听到蚱蜢在鸣叫，深感陶醉其中； —-

and, desiring to possess the same charms of melody, demanded what sort of food they lived on to give them such beautiful voices. —- 他渴望拥有同样美妙的歌声，便询问他们以什么食物为生才能拥有如此优美的声音。 —-

They replied, “The dew. —- 他们回答说：“露水。” —-

” The Ass resolved that he would live only upon dew, and in a short time died of hunger. 驴决定只以露水为食，不久便饿死了。
