Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel.
从前，世界上的颜色开始争吵。
Green said, “Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and hope. I was chosen for grass and trees. Look over the countryside and you will see that I am in the most parts.”
绿色说：“显然我是最重要的。我是生命与希望的象征。我被选中用于草地和树木。看看乡村吧，你会发现我无处不在。”
Blue interrupted, “you only think about the earth, but look at the sky and the sea. It is the water that is the basis(基础) of life.”
蓝色打断道：“你只想到大地，但看看天空和海洋吧。水才是生命的基础（基础）。”
Yellow laughed, “The sun is yellow. Every time you look at sunflowers, the whole world starts to smile.”
黄色笑着说：“太阳是黄色的。每当你看向向日葵，整个世界都会微笑起来。”
Red could wait no longer. “I am the ruler of all of you. I am the color of danger and bravery(勇气). I am the color of passion(激情) and love.
红色再也等不住了。“我是你们所有人的统治者。我是危险与勇气（勇气）的颜色。我是激情（激情）与爱的颜色。”
Purple stood out. “I am the color of royalty(皇室) and power. People don’t question me! They listen and obey.”
紫色挺身而出。“我是皇室（皇室）与权力的颜色。人们从不质疑我！他们倾听并服从。”
Finally orange said, “I am the warm color. You need me for balance.”
最后橙色说：“我是温暖的颜色。你需要我来保持平衡。”
The colors went on quarrel, each showing off his or her advantages. Suddenly there came a bright light. Rain began to pour down. The colors were scared to death. Rain began to say, “You foolish colors. Don’t you know that you are different from each other. Join hands with one another and come to me.” Doing as they were told, the colors joined hands and get together. From then on, when it rains, colors will show across the sky in a great bow of color. Whenever a rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to admire each other.
颜色们继续争吵，各自炫耀自己的优点。突然一道亮光出现，大雨倾盆而下。颜色们吓得魂飞魄散。雨开始说道：“你们这些愚蠢的颜色。难道不知道彼此不同吗？手拉手来到我这里。”颜色们照做了，携手团结在一起。从此以后，每当下雨时，各种颜色便会在天空中组成一道巨大的彩色拱桥。每当彩虹出现在天空，让我们记得互相欣赏。
