Dubbed “Superman” for his sharp deal-making skills, Li added more than US$6 billion to his fortune over the past year. His gains contributed to a combined US$65 billion rise in wealth among the city’s 50 richest people. Li’s vast business empire spans real estate, infrastructure, and pharmaceuticals through major firms like CK Asset Holdings and CK Hutchison. Ranked 37th globally, Li stepped down in 2018, passing leadership to his son, Victor Li Tzar-kuoi.
