Tesla has rolled out its 9 millionth electric vehicle globally, with the milestone Model Y produced at its Shanghai factory, the company’s largest manufacturing site. Construction of Giga Shanghai began in January 2019, and production started by the end of that year, making it China’s first wholly foreign-owned auto plant. The factory began delivering Model 3s in early 2020 and Model Ys in 2021. With annual capacity exceeding 1 million vehicles, Giga Shanghai serves both China and overseas markets. From January to November 2025, Tesla China’s wholesale sales reached 754,561 units, though retail sales in China have declined year-on-year.

特斯拉在上海超级工厂下线了全球第900万辆电动车，这辆具有里程碑意义的车型为Model Y。上海工厂于2019年1月开工建设，并在当年底投产，成为中国首个外商独资汽车制造项目。该工厂于2020年交付Model 3，2021年开始交付Model Y，年产能超过100万辆，是特斯拉全球最大的生产基地，同时供应中国市场并承担出口任务。2025年1至11月，特斯拉中国批发销量达75.46万辆，但其在中国的零售销量同比仍呈下降趋势。
