YouTube to Become Exclusive Home of the Oscars From 2029
YouTube将从2029年起成为奥斯卡颁奖典礼的独家直播平台

YouTube has secured exclusive rights to stream the Oscars beginning in 2029, marking a major shift for one of television’s most iconic award shows. The deal, announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will start with the 101st Oscars and run through 2033. ABC, which has broadcast the ceremony since 1961 with brief exceptions, will continue airing the show until 2028. Financial terms were not disclosed. The Oscars will stream live and free on YouTube to more than 2 billion global viewers, alongside availability on YouTube TV in the U.S. The move reflects YouTube’s growing influence in live television and the Academy’s effort to reach wider audiences as ratings have declined over the years. Beyond the ceremony, the partnership includes red carpet coverage, behind-the-scenes content, nominations announcements, interviews, and educational programming.
