CATL has started mass production of its fifth-generation LFP batteries, achieving major improvements in energy density and cycle life, according to chairman Robin Zeng. The company continues to lead in both LFP and ternary battery technologies and has expanded into sodium-ion solutions with its Naxtra battery, designed for better safety, lower carbon emissions, and improved low-temperature performance.
CATL remains the world’s largest battery maker with a 36.6% global market share and has supplied over 20 million NEVs worldwide. Its batteries are also used in commercial trucks, electric vessels, and eVTOL aircraft. CATL has created 150,000 jobs and invested heavily in R&D to advance next-generation energy technologies.
