Li Auto is recalling 11,411 Li Mega MPVs, nearly half of its total deliveries, after a vehicle caught fire in Shanghai last month. The recall covers models built between February and December 2024 due to potential coolant corrosion that may cause power failure or battery fires.According to regulators, the issue stems from insufficient corrosion protection in the cooling system, possibly leading to thermal runaway. Li Auto will replace the coolant, battery, and motor controller for free. The company called the move “proactive”, apologizing to the affected owner while investigations continue. No final technical cause has been confirmed yet.
