OCBC Warns of 2025 Margin Pressure Despite Strong Q3 Results
华侨银行第三季度业绩优于预期,但对2025年保持谨慎
Singapore’s OCBC Bank posted a stronger-than-expected third-quarter profit of S$1.98 billion, up slightly from last year, supported by higher non-interest income and lower allowances. However, the lender warned of weaker margins and a cautious outlook for 2025, citing complex global conditions and geopolitical risks. CEO Helen Wong said the bank’s solid capital position would help it navigate uncertainty and support long-term growth. OCBC now expects net interest income to decline by mid-to-high single digits next year, with net interest margin narrowed to around 1.90%. Despite headwinds, OCBC will maintain its dividend payout and share buyback plans, mirroring a mixed earnings season for Singapore’s major banks.
