McDonald’s Sells Yuen Long Property for HK$77.4 Million

McDonald’s has sold its three-storey Yuen Long shop for HK$77.4 million (US$9.9 million), marking the first sale under its Hong Kong asset-disposal plan announced in July. The property, located in Yuen Long Trade Centre, fetched over eight times its 1987 purchase price of HK$9.3 million. Buyer Acc Investment took ownership this week.The sale is part of McDonald’s plan to offload eight properties worth HK$1.2 billion in areas like Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay. Despite the sale, the fast-food chain will continue operating its restaurants under long-term leases. McDonald’s, celebrating 50 years in Hong Kong, currently runs 265 outlets citywide.
