Tech clusters drive Jiangsu’s growth, while Guangdong’s export-led economy slows. Guangdong’s first-half GDP grew 4.2% to over 6.87 trillion yuan, lagging the national 5.3%. Its exports rose only 1.1% in the period, down from 12.1% in Q1 2024. Analysts cite Jiangsu’s diversified industries, lower reliance on real estate and exports as strengths.
