Chinese tech firm Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 17 series (17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max) in late September, skipping the 16 line after last year’s 15. This, its second numerical skip, aims to rival Apple’s newly unveiled iPhone 17. CEO Lei Jun says the series, with the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, is ready to compete head-on.
