first
Global

Conference

Beijing.

international
online
education
platform,
MOOC,
which
stands
for
massive
open
online
course,
is
the
result
of
a
deep
integration
of
information
technology
and
education.

China
started
to
build
MOOC
platforms
in
2013,
allowing
people
from
all
over
the
country
to
hear
lessons
simultaneously
from
anywhere,
said
Education
Minister
Chen
Baosheng
during
his
keynote
speech
at
the
conference.
中国教育部长陈宝生在大会上的主旨演讲中说,中国自2013年起构建慕课平台,使得来自世界各地的人们能够在任何地方听到课程。
“In
the
practice
of
global
education
innovation,
MOOC
is
becoming
an
important
engine
for
promoting
reform
in
higher
education,”
said
Chen,
adding
“This
not
only
helps
the
Chinese
universities
cope
with
the
COVID-19
pandemic
crisis,
but
also
gathers
experience
in
building
a
lifelong
education
for
all
in
the
future.”
“在全球教育创新的实践中,MOOC正在成为推动高等教育改革的重要引擎,”陈说,“这不仅有助于中国大学应对COVID-19疫情危机,也为未来建设全民终身教育体系积累了经验。”
To
cope
with
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
all
Chinese
universities
moved
to
online
classes
during
the
spring
semester,
with
1.08
million
teachers
producing
1.1
million
online
courses,
said
Chen,
who
stressed
the
unprecedented
practice
has
laid
a
solid
foundation
to
promote
innovative
development
in
online
education
and
MOOC.
陈教授表示,为应对新冠疫情,中国所有高校在春季学期都转向了在线课程,108万名教师开展了110万门在线课程。他强调,这一前所未有的做法为推动在线教育和慕课的创新发展奠定了坚实的基础。
“We
should
continue
to
improve
the
quality
of
MOOC
through
innovation
and
new
technologies
while
also
protect
privacy
through
law
and
regulation,”
said
Chen.
陈说:“我们应该继续通过创新和新的技术手段来提高慕课的质量,同时通过法律法规保护隐私。”
The
conference
was
co-hosted
by
Tsinghua
University
and
the
UNESCO
Institute
for
Information
Technologies
in
Education,
with
the
theme
of
“Learning
Revolution
and
Higher
Education
Transformation”.

from
more
than
2,000
international
organizations,
government
agencies,
universities
and
online
education
institutions
attended
the
conference.
