Gold and Bitcoin have surged together as investors worried about a weaker dollar and rising government debt. Gold climbed to record highs near $4,700 an ounce in August, gaining more than 10 percent in a single month, while Bitcoin topped $80,000 for the first time since May. Analysts say “debasement fears” are driving the rally, with U.S. federal debt now above $40 trillion. Both assets have pulled back from their peaks but remain sharply higher this year.
