In August, Chinese budget EV makers kept growing. Amid lingering deflation, cost-conscious buyers avoided premium models, favoring cheaper EVs with Tesla-like self-driving and in-car entertainment. Leapmotor (backed by Stellantis) delivered 57,066 units (up 13.8% from July), breaking its sales record for 4 straight months. Xpeng sold 37,709 units (up 2.7% monthly), setting a record for 2 months in a row. Geely-owned Galaxy saw 16.4% monthly delivery growth, hitting an all-time high of 110,666 units.
