Jack heard Annie yelling. He saw her coming down the rope ladder.
杰克听到安妮正在爬下绳梯还在大呼小叫。
Jack started to run across the hot sand. He ran as fast as he could. But the pirates ran faster.
杰克飞快地跑过炽热的沙滩，使尽全力地狂奔，但是海盗们比他跑得还快。
Jack struggled. But the pirate had huge, strong arms. He held on to Jack and laughed a mean, ugly laugh. He had a shaggy black beard. A patch covered one eye.
杰克挣扎着，但是海盗有着巨大而强壮的胳膊。他抓着杰克露出一个野蛮丑陋的笑。那个海盗长着毛茸茸的黑胡子，一块眼罩遮住了一只眼睛。
Before Jack knew it, the biggest pirate had grabbed him!
杰克还搞不清楚状况的时候，那个最高的海盗已经把他给抓住了！
But Annie kept coming. “Leave him alone, you bully!” she cried.
但是安妮继续从树屋爬下来，哭喊着说：“哎，你放开他。你这个欺负弱小的坏家伙。”
Annie fell silent.
安妮安静了下来。
But the pirate just growled. Then he grabbed her, too. And with his giant hands, he held Jack and Annie as if they were two kittens.
不过海盗只是咆哮着。接着他也抓住了安妮，他用巨大的魔掌扣住杰克和安妮，就像拎着两只小鸡似的。
Cap’n Bones laughed loudly. Then he turned to the other two. “Find out what’s in their house, you dogs,” he said.
骷髅船长大声笑着，转身对着另外两个海盗说：“找找看，他们的屋子里有什么，你们两个蠢货！”
“No one escapes Cap’n Bones!” he roared. His breath was terrible.
“没有人可以逃出骷髅船长的手心！”他大声地怒吼，呼出了一股可怕的臭气。
“Let go!” Annie shouted into his face.
“放我们走！”安妮对着他的脸喊道。
But Cap’n Bones just smiled. All his teeth were black.
但是骷髅船长只是笑，露出了全部都是黑色的牙齿。
The other two pirates laughed meanly. They were dirty and ragged.
另外两个海盗卑鄙地大笑，他们穿得又脏又破。
“Stay where you are!” Jack shouted.
“待在那里别动！”杰克喊道。
Annie charged up to the biggest pirate. “Let him go!” she said. She hit the pirate with her fist and kicked him.
安妮抓住那个最高大的海盗，“快点，你放开他。”一面说一面用她的小拳头打海盗，还用脚踢海盗。
“Books, Cap’n!” Pinky shouted down.
“好多书，船长！”平基向下喊着说。
“Look, Cap’n! Look!”
“看啊，船长！看！”
“Throw it down!” cried Cap’n Bones.
“把它扔下来！”骷髅船长喊道。
Pinky leaned out the tree house window. He held the medallion. It glimmered in the sunlight.
平基从树屋的窗户探出身子，手里拿着那块奖牌。金奖牌在太阳光下闪闪发光。
“Aye, aye, Cap’n!” they answered. And they started up the ladder to the tree house.
“遵命，遵命，船长！”他们回答道，然后开始爬上绳梯到了树屋里。
A gleeful shriek pierced the air.
一阵欣喜若狂的尖叫声传了过来。
Cap’n Bones grabbed Jack’s backpack. “What’s in here?” he said.
骷髅船长抓住了杰克的背包问：“这里面有什么？”
“Another book!” roared Cap’n Bones. “That’s vile booty!”
“又一本书！”骷髅船长怒吼。“那是无用的战利品！”
“Just books, Cap’n!” shouted Stinky.
“只有书，船长！”臭臭向下喊。
“Aghh, books,” said Cap’n Bones. He spit on the sand again. “I hate books! Keep looking, dogs! Find me something good!”
“啊，书，”骷髅船长说着，又往沙滩上吐了一口痰。“我讨厌书！继续找，蠢货！给我找点好东西！”
“Nothing –” Jack quickly opened the pack. “Just paper, a pencil, a book.”
“没有什么呀—”杰克快速地打开背包。“只有纸，一只铅笔和一本书。”
“What about you, Stinky?” Cap’n Bones roared.
“那你呢，臭臭？”骷髅船长咆哮道。
“Dogs are nicer than you,” said Annie.
“蠢货都比你要好，”安妮轻声说。
“Shhh,” said Jack.
“嘘，”杰克低声阻止道。
Cap’n Bones froze. “What’s that?” he shouted.
骷髅船长僵住了。“找到了什么东西？”他喊道。
“Aghh, books,” growled Cap’n Bones. He spit on the sand. “I want gold, you dogs!”
“啊？书，”骷髅船长嚎叫着，吐了一口痰到沙滩上说：“我只想要金子，蠢货！”
Oh brother, thought Jack.
哦，天哪，杰克想。
“What do you spy, Pinky?” shouted Cap’n Bones.
“你都看到了什么，平基？”骷髅船长问道。
Cap’n Bones dropped Jack and Annie. He caught the medallion as it fell.
骷髅船长扔下杰克和安妮，抓住了正在下落的奖牌。
He grabbed two of his pistols. He shot them into the air. Pinky and Stinky howled like wolves.
他抓起两把手枪朝天上开枪，平基和臭臭像狼一样嚎叫起来。
“Gold! Gold! Gold!” he cried. Cap’n Bones threw back his head and laughed horribly.
“金子，金子！金子！”他欣喜地叫喊着。骷髅船长把头甩向后面疯狂地大笑起来。
“It’s not yours!” shouted Annie.
“它不是你的！”安妮叫到。
