Chinese robotics firm UBTech has partnered with European aerospace giant Airbus to introduce humanoid robots into aviation manufacturing, marking a significant step in UBTech’s global expansion. Airbus has purchased UBTech’s Walker S2 humanoid robot to jointly explore how advanced robotics can be applied across its production facilities. The collaboration aims to test robots in tasks within complex aviation manufacturing environments. This deal follows UBTech’s recent partnership with US chipmaker Texas Instruments, highlighting the company’s rapid push beyond China. UBTech is targeting multiple overseas industries, including aviation, semiconductors, automotive manufacturing and consumer electronics, as it seeks to commercialise humanoid robots on a global scale.
