TikTok is introducing a new setting that lets users control how much AI-generated content appears in their For You feed. The option, found under Settings > Content Preferences > Manage Topics, allows users to adjust a slider to see more or less AIGC, similar to other topic controls like Dance or Sports. The update arrives as platforms like Meta and OpenAI push AI-only video feeds. Realistic AI videos have become more common on TikTok, prompting the need for better transparency tools. To improve labeling, TikTok is testing “invisible watermarking,” a hidden marker that only TikTok can detect, making AI tags harder to remove. These watermarks will apply to videos created with TikTok’s AI tools and those uploaded with C2PA Content Credentials. TikTok is also launching a US$2 million AI literacy fund to support educational content about AI safety.
