Ford has paused production of its all-electric F-150 Lightning after a fire at aluminum supplier Novelis’ New York plant disrupted material supply. The automaker will instead focus on its more profitable gas and hybrid F-Series trucks, which require less aluminum.Despite a 39.7% year-over-year sales increase, the F-150 Lightning still represents a small fraction of total F-Series sales. Ford expects the pause to continue until aluminum production resumes in December 2025.
